Our PUPPY ENGAGEMENT class will teach your dog how to voluntarily participate and form a meaningful connection to the handler. Active engagement is highly beneficial to the dog-handler relationship in competitions. Focus work teaches the dog that turning his attention to you is highly rewarding and enjoyable. The handler receives instructions for creating focus work games, which in turn creates the foundation for cultivating active engagement.

Our Training Philisophy
We have been instructing obedience classes since 1982. Our classes are small for individualized attention. We accept dogs of all ages and all breeds, from puppies to adults and we believe that no dog or owner is too old to learn new tricks or behaviors! We understand the advantages and disadvantages of both positive and negative reinforcement training, and have developed a training philosophy, which incorporates both aspects. Based on establishing authority and leadership rather than dominance or intimidation, we build a positive foundation for a desirable behavior using rewards. From a behavioral perspective the answer to a well adjusted pet is self confidence and acceptance of authority. Self confidence is developed through training and socialization. All of our classes are designed to help your dog develop social skills. The interaction with other animals and people is used in a positive manner with controlled guidelines, which encourages positive experiences. Control is established by teaching the dog to accept the owner's authority when responding to commands. Control teaches the dog that it is to the dog's advantage to respond to the owner's request.
