This puppy guarantee/warranty and bill of sale binds the conditions and terms.
This guarantee is a replacement puppy, not a money back guarantee; there are no exceptions to this
policy. This guarantee is non-transferable; a replacement puppy can only be given to the original
buyer. There are no exceptions to this policy.
The health of your puppy is guaranteed for 72 hours after the purchase date or from the date of
shipping. There are no other implied guarantee/warranty past this period. If the puppy has been shipped, it will have a thorough examination by our veterinarian before shipping, including a health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian in the State of Ohio. If the puppy does not pass the buyers veterinarian check, the purchase price of the puppy will be refunded upon return of the puppy, including the AKC registration papers, plus a letter from the
veterinarian describing the problem encountered. There are no other exceptions to this policy.
All puppies are registered with AKC, von Lindesfarne name and micro chipped for identification, any name alternations by the owner /buyer will void the terms of this contract.
Temperament is guaranteed at the time of purchase. Major factors which may contribute to the
changes in temperament are environmental or due to the lack of sufficient socialization and training.
The breeder (seller) has no control over environmental factors; to ensure the puppy receives sufficient training
and socialization we offer a free basic obedience class to be completed at our facility
The ears should stand erect by the age of 4-8 months. There is no evidence of any ear problems within our
breeding lines. The ears may stand up, then go back down, especially during the teething (when the puppy
acquires adult teeth, 5-9 months) if the ears are up at times, then down at times, it is safe to assume that
after teething is completed, the ears should stand.
Male puppies are warranted to have both testicles at the time of purchase. When the puppy is vet checked,
the testicles are identified during the exam. The testes form in the abdomen and descend into the scrotum.
It is common for testicles to drift up and down this pathway/tube. Complete descended testicles may take
up to the age of 4 months before fully descending. Puppies will not be replaced after the age of 6 months
for an undescended testicle. There is no exception to this policy.
Hips: Studies have proven that mating only dogs with radiographically normal hips/elbows will
noticeably reduced the occurrences of dysplasia. All of our breeding stock possesses hip/elbow
certifications. At the age of one (1) year /12 mo., the owner/buyer must obtain hip X-rays for the German ‘a’ Stamp evaluation to fulfill the guarantee of this contract. OFA hip evaluation is not included in the terms of this contract.
There is no exception to this policy. Please contact us regarding any questions concerning the ‘a’ Stamp process.
In the unlikely event that the puppy is diagnosed with hip dysplasia; by failing the ‘a’ stamp
evaluation, the Breeder may select a replacement puppy of equal or greater value from the next
available litter. The Buyer /owner must forward the complete health records and radiology report (‘a’ stamp) to the
Breeder (seller). If the defect is diagnosed as being caused by trauma, stress, neglect, abuse, or any
other non-inherited factor, this guarantee will then become invalid without effect. Dogs failing the ‘a’ Stamp hip certification must be spayed/neutered or euthanized. Proof of the spay/neuter must be sent to the Breeder along with copies of all veterinary records, plus the hip evaluation form. If euthanasia is elected, a veterinarian statement and copies of all veterinary records must be sent to the Breeder. No consideration for a replacement will be given without receipt of all of these reports. There is no exception to this policy. After the age of one (1) and one-half (1/2) year(s), this guarantee becomes void. The major factors contributing to hip dysplasia include reactions to certain diets, activities and environmental factors. Owners can help to reduce the incidence by controlling environmental
factors; diets, exercise, weight, and controlling any excessive amounts of protein and energy rich
foods to minimize rapid growth rates. Food/diet recommendations were given to you upon purchase.
We reserve the right to have the puppy examined by our veterinarian
Beware of the Breeder who uses the terminology:
German Bred, German Lines, Schutzhund, DDR, V rated
The Requirements of a Breeder to follow the German Breeding program:
A breeder is required to show their dogs at a German Style Conformation Show, and obtain a conformation show rating of - V, SG or G
A Breeder must obtain a performance/working title [SchH,IPO,HGH] the minimum being IPO1
All breeding dogs must have clear Hip and Elbow ratings either 'a' Stamp or OFA
Prior to the Breed Suitability Test, a dog must achieve an AD (12mi endurance test)
The elite breeding dogs will have obtained a Breed Suitability Test [Koer]
Ask the breeder to see the dogs Koer report (Breed Suitability Test)
Ask to see the Scorebook which will confirm the performance/working dog title
Ask to see the Show Card which rates the conformation
BEWARE of the Breeder who cannot produce these documents!
The key to finding the right breeder is to first educate yourself. There are many dishonest breeders who use terminology and words to mislead the public. The only accurate way to learn about German Bred dogs, German breeding programs, German style Shows and Trials, is to spend time with people who actually are involved in the sport of Schutzhund and competing with their dogs Gather information from as many different dog enthusiasts and professionals as you can. Visit shows, trials, clubs, and traning facilities. Become informed. Don't get scammed by the backyard breeder!
